- Go Blue — and Go Green!
At UMaine, you won’t just learn the skills you need to make a living. You’ll learn how to make a life. And you’ll make plenty of friends along the way — people just like you … and people like you’ve never met before.
You’re probably wondering what your dorm will be like. Well, for starters, we don’t call them dorms, we call them residence halls. Sure, it sounds fancy, but they’re actually quite welcoming — and unique, just like you. At UMaine, you can create a home away from home. We’ll provide the beds, desks and dressers. We’ll even throw in a roommate for no additional charge. The rest is up to you.
During your first year on campus, you’ll live with a whole bunch of your classmates, as part of the First Year Residential Experience. We call it FYRE. Because it’s hot.
“When I came here, I felt like I was at home. Everyone was down to earth and it felt real. I ended up not going to visit another school because I knew deep down this is where I wanted to be.”
Jermaine Henderson, junior
Child Development major
