Scholarships

UMaine’s Undergraduate Admissions office offers a variety of merit-based scholarships and related grants.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

UMaine strongly encourages all applicants to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as FAFSA, in order to receive any benefits made available from this U.S. Department of Education financial aid program. Striving to make college as affordable as possible, the university works hard to ensure students have access to all possible scholarships, grants, loans and work study funds and should be contacted with any questions students or their families might have. When filing, use UMaine’s FAFSA Code 002053.
Visit the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid for more information.

New England Board of Higher Education – Tuition Break Program

Through the New England Board of Higher Education’s Tuition Break Program, students from the six New England states are eligible to attend UMaine at a discount when their resident state college or university does not offer their preferred major course of study.
Read our factsheet to see what majors qualify.

Net Price Calculator

To get a better understanding of the costs and fees you will have as an undergraduate student, UMaine offers a Net Price Calculator. This application is intended for first-time, incoming students and is only an estimate of the costs of an education at the university. Final determination of aid will be based on a number of factors, including academic records, application submission date, availability of funds, and the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
Visit the Net Price Calculator for more information.

Student Financial Aid

The Office of Student Financial Aid processes and awards financial aid packages for students and their families. The office also provides guidance when completing and submitting these forms.
